![]() ![]() But whence you start typing quickly you naturally tend to bottom out and it is quite difficult to stop. If you train your fingers to not bottom out when typing it isn't much of an issue and is quite relaxing. The largest offender definitely being the weighting. Maybe this is a problem with all tactiles, but I feel as if it is definitely not because it would kind of defeat the purpose of the name "tactile."Īfter getting acclimated to these switches I began to be able to point out a few more flaws. I can feel it when pressing lightly on the keys individually, but if you are thinking these are going to feel magical with having a distinct tactile feel within the middle of the key press you will be disappointed. I suppose I was much over estimating it within my mind, but even with normal typing on this keyboard I hardly notice the tactile feel. I was naturally drawn to tactiles for some reason, but when I received this board with these switches I felt very very underwhelmed. The first thing I checked to see if I would like was tactility. I guess you could say that coming from a cheap membrane anything like this felt good to type on. When I first received this board I was coming from a cheap membrane (Corsair K55) and the sheer feeling of having such solidity in a key press was quite unfamiliar but very welcoming and quickly grew on me. I still tend to type on the heavier side but I have since trained my fingers to be a bit lighter when pressing switches so I no longer bottom out as much. To start out I will say that when I first got these I was very heavy handed and always bottomed out on every switch. (The only modifications I have made to this board are clipping and lubing the stabilizers using Nathan "TaehaTypes" Kim's method of lubing.) That being said I would like to give my opinions about the switches (Halo True) from a beginner's pov to (hopefully) other beginners out there deciding on what to get. I chose this mainly because of it being hotswappable so I could easily try new switches and see what I like before committing to (eventually) making myself a full custom mech. At first I wanted some $200 gaming keyboard, then I got worked down to what I have now, the Massdrop Ctrl.
